Project: Single storey extension and re-roofing works

The project brief included the provision of extra classroom and workroom space to the very popular school for children with disabilities.

Included in the works were internal access equipment, external access ramps, new "Icopal" roofing system to all flat roofs, new electrical and Mechanical installations and tactile finishings.

There were a number of site constraints as the school was to be in full occupation throughout the works. However, any issues were overcome by close liason with the school staff.

Material selection was critical, with balance being sought between low maintenance and environmentally and D.D.A. acceptable, suitable for the school's setting within a natural landscape. The extra space was specifically designed for children with disabilities, and their ongoing needs.
